Tottenham on Last Leg For Europe

Adam Roark

Tottenham Hotspur must have forgotten that it was match last Saturday, as they were trounced by a scoreline of 3-1 against Leeds United. Now with the potential of Champions League long away, Spurs will have to fight to secure their place in any European competition as they face off against Wolverhampton on Sunday at 9:05am est.

Match Preview

After suffering a heart-breaking loss at Leeds United, Tottenham will be aiming to keep their Europe hopes alive when they face Wolverhampton in London on Sunday. Spurs are eight points behind the Top 4, meaning that this has to go down as a must-win game for the capital club.

Injured defender Ben Davies should be the only absentee in the Spurs squad. The Wolves, on the other hand, aim to build on a 2-1 win over ten-man Brighton. Nuno Espirito Santo’s men are eager to secure a top-ten finish, but seeing that the hosts want this win more than the visitors, we are tempted to put our money on Daniel Levy’s charges. Long-term absentee Jimenez remains in the recovery room alongside Neto, Jonny, and Marcal.

This weekend will by no means be simple for the North London side, but I see Spurs recovering this weekend and taking all 3 points by a scoreline of 2-1.

Predicted Lineup and Outcome

Ryan Mason will want to encourage consistency for the remainder of this PL run-in, so we have a few in mind that will remain in the lineup.

Mason will likely line up attacking, which is bound to make for a scrappy match. I see regulars Hojbjerg and Lo Celso lining up alongside Dele this weekend.

We can expect four at the back to fill in the formation, and I think Alderweireld will come back with Dier, Aurier, and Reguilon filling out the rest.

With Bale being in superb form right now, we will see him stacked at the top with Son and Kane.

Tottenham predicted XI (4-3-3): Lloris; Reguilon, Alderweireld, Dier, Aurier; Højbjerg, Dele, Lo Celso; Bale, Kane, Son.

The Wrap Up:

After a disappointing week Spurs will be looking to push for Europe by taking 3 points in a must win match.
