Tottenham Hotspur vs. Manchester City Pre-Match Analysis

Tottenham Hotspur is now occupying second place in the Premier League after a win against West Brom with a 1-0 score-line at the Hawthorns. Tottenham will look to claim three points against Manchester City this weekend on Saturday at 12:30 pm EST.

Match Preview

Tottenham and Manchester City go head-to-head in London in the Premier League match of the week. Spurs are eyeing their fourth consecutive win in the English top-flight, and a victory over Man City could see them overtake Leicester City in top position in the standings if the club falls to Liverpool. Giovani Lo Celso should be close to being fully fit after having a sensational international break with Argentina, while Pep Guardiola’s men, on the other hand, have yet to find their best form.

The title-chasing side has already dropped too many points in the 2020/21 season, and, as a result, they occupy 10th place in the table ahead of the trip to London. Kun Aguero is likely to miss the game with an injury, as well as Fernandinho, while Netherlands defender Ake has recovered from the injury he suffered in a friendly against Spain. Anyhow, these clubs always provide fireworks, so we can expect goals at the weekend.

Predicted Lineup and Outcome

After three straight wins for the Lilywhites, we can expect that Jose will remain consistent and keep his regulars on the pitch.

With Ndombele’s place in the squad becoming more and more important, we can expect he will start in midfield with Lo Celso and Hojbjerg as they could be the trio that Mourinho favors in the long term.

With Doherty testing positive for Covid-19, we know that Serge Aurier will take his place at the back with Reguilon, Dier, and Alderweireld.

With Son leading the Premier League in goal scoring, we will indefinitely see him stacked at the top with Kane and maybe Bale completing the frontline. My prediction on the day is that Spurs will draw with City with a 2-2 scoreline.

Tottenham predicted XI (4-3-3): Lloris; Aurier, Dier, Alderweireld, Reguilon; Højbjerg, Lo Celso, Ndombele; Bale, Kane, Son.

The Wrap Up:

After a successful week, Spurs’ supporters will be hoping that the club continues its winning ways and gains three points this weekend to push up further in the table.

Can Mourinho’s Lilywhites win again this weekend? Will we see the midfield of Lo Celso, Ndombele, and Hojbjerg? Stay tuned to find out, and check back in with me soon for more Tottenham News and COME ON YOU SPURS!
