Tottenham Face Newcastle After International Break

Tottenham Hotspur has seen improvement in their recent form as they have moved up to 6th place in the Premier League after their win 2 weekends ago against Aston Villa. Tottenham will head into Sunday with a chance to improve their standing even further as they will face off against the Magpies at 9:05 a.m. EST.

Match Preview

Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur face each other at St. James’ Park in the Premier League round 30. The Magpies are on a six-game winless run in the English top-flight, with the team sitting only two points clear of the relegation zone.

Newcastle is desperate to return to winning ways in the Premier League, but they will have a mountain to climb this Sunday. The good news for the hosts is that key attacker Callum Wilson should recover in time to face Spurs.

Tottenham, on the other hand, aims to climb to the Champions League berth, and seeing that Son should be fit in time to face the Magpies, we believe that there is a big value in betting on the in-form Spurs. Jose Mourinho has no other injury concerns ahead of the trip to Newcastle upon Tyne.

Although the Magpies stole a controversial point in the last outing, I see Spurs coming out firing on all cylinders and taking this match by a scoreline of 3-1.

Predicted Lineup and Outcome

After finding chemistry within the starting 11, we can expect that Jose will stay consistent with the lineup.

Jose will likely line up attacking, which is bound to make for a scrappy match. I see regulars Hojbjerg and Ndombele lining up alongside Lo Celso this weekend.

We can expect four at the back to fill in the formation, and I think Sanchez will come back with Rodon, Aurier, and Tanganga filling out the rest.

With Kane being in superb form right now, we will see him stacked at the top with Son and Bale.

Tottenham predicted XI (4-3-3): Lloris; Tanganga, Sanchez, Rodon, Aurier; Højbjerg, Ndombele, Lo Celso; Bale, Kane, Son.

The Wrap Up:

After a solid week, Spurs’ supporters will be hoping that the club can take three points against Newcastle this week to continue their work of moving to the top four of the table.
