5. Leon Draisaitl, Edmonton Oilers, C/RW

The German beast continues his great season. This past month, Leon Draisatl had the following stat line: six goals, 11 assists, 17 points, three PPG, six PPP, + 9 and two GWG’s. These all happened in just nine games played this month and it will need to continue for the Oilers to contend for a playoff spot.

His numbers are unreal as he carried a 8-2-0 record with 17 goals against, .948 SV%, 1.72 GAA and three shutouts. The Latvian has been lights out and hopes to continue his hot streak for the Blue Jackets.

The Russian goaltender Andrei Vasilevskiy really got back on track this past month posting a 9-0-1 record with a .948 SV%, 1.58 GAA and two shutouts. He struggled with his stats to start the year but looks better than ever in the month of January.

2. Alex Ovechkin, Washington Capitals, LW

The past month for the great eight has been historic and epic to watch. In the month of January he’s recorded: 13 goals, two assists, 15 points, +3, three PPG, five PPP, 1 GWG and a 29.5 shooting percentage. This month, Ovi also included two hat tricks in two games vs the Devils and islanders. These stats made him climb the ladder in all time goal scoring.

The third Russian player on this list finishes it off at number one. Nikita Kucherov led the entire NHL for the month of January in points with 19 points in 13 games played. 10 goals, nine assists, +14, one PPG, two PPA and three GWG’s were also included in his monster month.
