Sunday Night Football
Pittsburgh Steelers @ New England Patriots 8:20 PM EST; TV: NBC

All Odds are Of September 7th at 10 AM EST via Bookmaker, Please Review Any Line Movement & Use Proper Judgement.

The Spread: Steelers (+5.5, -110) @ Patriots (-5.5, -110)
The last time these two teams met was in December in 2018 in Pittsburgh winning 17-10 (PIT -2.5) since then New England has won the last 5 meetings prior and covered 4 of them with the spread being an average of Patriots -5.25. (New England was underdogs and won outright one of the 5 games)

The Money Line (ML): Steelers (+211) @ Patriots (-255)
The past 10 meetings have been all New England winnings 7 of 10 winning those games but only 3 coming at home and one of them was also a home opener back in 2016 28-21.  This it not your typical New England Patriots home opener…. Well i guess it is considering it will be their 6th opening night with raising a banner to the fans celebrating their Super Bowl win and they gave fans reason to continue to celebrate in 4 of the past 5 games)

Over 49 (-110) / Under 49 (-110)
The number is one of the lowest it has been in the past 10 meetings between the two teams.  When the number has been at 50 or more the UNDER is 4 out of 5. When the number is at 49 or less it has gone OVER 3 out of 5.

The Plays:

Patriots -5.5 (-110)
It’s hard to not go against New England in any aspect 5.5 its to low of a number and i will gladly take a Bill Belicheck team that has been preparing for a team for months since the schedule has been released.  Mix in the fact the Steelers lost Brown and Bell (evan though he did not play last year)

Under 49 (-110)
For it being the first game of the season I expect a lot of understanding to hit as teams are going to be not as hesitant to “let loose” like the Packers / Bears game.  To go along with that both defences are top 10 in the league in my eyes so expect a very run heavy clock running game with a few shots taken in the game.

I don’t see any value on the ML in this game.  The only thing i would say is if the New England goes down early look for a live line near or at + odds if they are with in a score.

Bonus Play (No odds yet on this type of play)
I will be looking for odds on Demaryius Thomas to either score first or to score in the game as Brady will be looking to connect with his new WR as soon as possible.

Tom Brady

Fanduel Price: $7300

Draftkings Price: $6000

Prime time Tom Brady in a season opener against the Pittsburgh Steelers in Foxborough? Sign me up! Last time Brady faced the Steelers in a season opener in 2015 he went off and threw for 288 yards with four passing TDs. In his career at home against the Steelers the GOAT is 5-0 with a completion rate above 70% and has thrown for 18 TDs and no interceptions in those 5 games. Even though that Steelers defense has improved from last season I still think there is no harm in starting the GOAT this week. I especially like him in DFS this week considering you can draft him in your lineups for extremely cheap!

Josh Gordon

Fanduel Price: $6,300

Draftkings Price: $5,500

Josh Gordon is definitely undervalued in DFS this week and if you have him on your fantasy team’s bench right now you might want to consider starting him this week. The retirement of Rob Gronkowski could be good news for Flash and his fantasy owners because in the three games that Flash played without Gronk last season he averaged 103.7 yards per game. Josh Gordon has lots of upside in the WR2 spot under Julian Edelman in this game against a weaker Steelers secondary defense. I am personally going to consider stacking Josh Gordon along with Tom Brady and Julian Edelman in my DFS lineups this week.

Ben Rothlisberger

Fanduel Price: $7600

Draftkings Price: $6300

Big Ben is the first player I recommend to avoid starting in any fantasy or daily fantasy lineups this week given his track record against New England. He has lost the last 3 games he has played in Foxborough against the Pats and has thrown for 3 TDs and 2 INTs in those three games and it doesn’t help that he also got sacked 5 times in those three games as well. Given a poor track record in Foxborough and the fact that the Patriots secondary and defense as a whole is looking pretty intimidating heading into the 2019 season are the main reasons why I would consider benching Big Ben this week. From a DFS standpoint he is definitely overvalued on Draftkings and Fanduel (moreso on Fanduel) this weekend so I recommend fading him in DFS as well as benching him in fantasy football if possible.
