Players to Add This Week

Tyler Naquin (CIN)

The Cincinnati Reds offense has been red hot to start the year and Naquin is a major part of that. The outfielder has already surpassed his home run total from last season (4) and is already at 14 RBIs on the year. While it is obvious this will not keep up, pick him up while he is scorching hot.

Fantasy Advice: With prolonged absences of Springer, Bellinger and Tatis, you would be foolish to not pick up Naquin right now. Naquin is owned in 67% of Yahoo fantasy leagues.

Cedric Mullins (BAL)

While not playing on the offensive firepower of the Reds lineup, Mullins has been solid early on for the Orioles. While he is not known for his power, his ability to get base hits could be useful just for some consistent production.

Fantasy Advice: While it is early in the year, Mullins is batting .459 with five doubles already. Mullins is only owned in 45% of Yahoo Fantasy Leagues.

Giovanny Gallegos (STL)

Right now, an elite reliever for the Cardinals, Gallegos is producing a lot of minimal contact and punchouts with nine so far through five innings of work to go along with only giving up one hit.

Fantasy Advice: The Cardinals do not want to give the closing reins to Gallegos, so expect him to record a lot of holds. Gallegos is only owned in 47% of Yahoo Fantasy Leagues.

Player to Drop This Week

Trevor Rosenthal (OAK)

Expected to be the Athletics closer this season, Rosenthal suffered a major shoulder injury just before the season that required him to get thoracic outlet surgery.

Fantasy Advice: There is no point in stuffing Rosenthal on the IL as it will be a closer by committee for the A’s and there is no guarantee that Rosenthal will be back this season. Even if he does return, he can be a player to be picked up at a later date.
