Players to Add This Week

Brandon Crawford (SF)

Veteran shortstop Brandon Crawford has been red hot as of late. The Giants are very surprisingly leading the NL West so far this season and Crawford has contributed to their success so far through 40+ games. Crawford has been on a home-run hitting spree of late highlighted but his .643 SLG

Fantasy Advice: While it is not expected that Crawford will continue this power surge, with a lot of major injuries happening this week to shortstops, managers can’t go wrong with picking him up for the short term. Crawford is owned in 41% of Yahoo fantasy leagues.

Rich Hill (TB)

There is something in the water for pitchers in Tampa Bay… or maybe their pitching coach is a genius. 41 year-old Rich Hill has been solid for the Rays this year. While his 4.26 ERA might be a concern, his advanced analytics point to having bad luck so far.

Fantasy Advice: Hill is a risky addition due to his age and inconsistent health but is definitely worth a flyer. Hill is owned in 19% of Yahoo Fantasy Leagues.

Robbie Grossman (DET)

Currently playing on the terrible Tigers, Grossman has been arguably their best player so far this season. While not a power hitting outfielder, Grossman has on base potential with 28 BB, and speed with seven SB this season.

Fantasy Advice: With Detroit still rebuilding, Grossman is most likely going to be flipped to a contender in the coming weeks, it may be smart to pick him up now given his current form. Grossman is owned in 48% of Yahoo Fantasy Leagues.

Player to Drop This Week

Mike Soroka (ATL)

For those fantasy managers that stashed Soroka hoping he would come back healthy, there is some bad news. Soroka’s health since his ROTY season in 2019 has been a disaster and the most recent set-back has the Braves searching for answers.

Fantasy Advice: Another risky fantasy move, it is very unclear what Soroka is dealing with and how much of it is caused by his Achilles injury last season. Reports have Soroka still out at least another month. This is a tough spot for the young Canadian and Braves fans alike.
